Empowering Movement, Voice, and Independence

Our specialized Parkinson’s Therapy Program helps individuals living with Parkinson’s disease improve movement, communication, and daily function through a coordinated team approach. Provided by our physical, occupational and speech therapists, this program uses proven, evidence-based techniques to help patients live fuller, more confident lives.

Our Approach

We combine personalized, one-on-one therapy with specialized Parkinson’s programs that target the key challenges of movement, speech, and self-care:

LSVT BIG® — Physical & Occupational Therapy

An intensive, research-based movement program designed to help patients retrain their bodies to move “big” again — counteracting the small, slow movements common in Parkinson’s.

LSVT BIG focuses on:

  • Large-amplitude movement training to improve walking speed, balance and posture
  • Whole-body exercises that promote smoother, more confident movement
  • Functional practice tailored to everyday tasks (like getting dressed, reaching or walking)
  • A four-week, high-intensity schedule (four sessions per week) proven to produce lasting results
  • Customized home exercise plans for continued improvement

Parkinson Wellness Recovery (PWR!) — Physical & Occupational Therapy

Developed by Dr. Becky Farley, creator of LSVT BIG®, PWR! expands the concept of “bigger, faster, stronger” movement into a lifelong wellness approach.

PWR! focuses on:

  • Foundational PWR!Moves® that target posture, weight shifting, rotation, and transitions
  • Exercises that can be adapted for any ability level — from early diagnosis to advanced stages
  • Dual-task training to improve coordination, cognition, and balance
  • Integration of movement principles into everyday life for lasting functional gains
  • Education and home programs to promote ongoing physical activity and wellness

Biodex Balance System — Physical & Occupational Therapy

Our physical therapy and occupational therapy teams use the Biodex Balance System to provide objective, precise assessment and training of balance, stability and fall risk.

Biodex Balance training focuses on:

  • Measuring postural stability, limits of stability, and fall risk
  • Providing real-time visual and auditory feedback to improve balance control
  • Developing personalized balance programs based on assessment data
  • Supporting gait, posture, and functional mobility improvements
  • Enhancing confidence and safety in daily activities

LSVT LOUD® — Speech Therapy

A proven speech treatment developed specifically for Parkinson’s disease to help individuals speak with a stronger, clearer voice.

LSVT LOUD includes:

  • Intensive voice exercises to increase volume and vocal endurance
  • Focused practice on “thinking loud” to improve articulation and speech clarity
  • Techniques that generalize from therapy sessions to daily conversations
  • Enhanced breath support and coordination for better voice control
  • Standard protocol: 4 sessions per week for 4 weeks, plus home practice

SPEAK OUT!® — Speech Therapy

A speech therapy program developed by the Parkinson Voice Project, designed to teach individuals to “speak with intent.”

SPEAK OUT! focuses on:

  • Combining speech, cognition and intent to improve communication and confidence
  • One-on-one therapy sessions followed by The LOUD Crowd®, a group maintenance class for ongoing practice
  • Strengthening the muscles used for speaking and swallowing
  • Helping patients regain confidence in social and family interactions
  • Supporting long-term success through continued community-based participation
