Luis Alberton, MD, joined Logan Health Surgical Clinic in October 2021 to provide minimally invasive thoracic surgery expertise to the growing surgical services program at Logan Health Medical Center. Dr. Alberton’s area of surgical expertise involves the organs of the chest and extends to the esophagus, the trachea and the chest wall, as well as anti-reflux disease. He received his medical degree from the University of Monterrey in Mexico and later completed his general surgery residency training at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center in Manhattan and Westchester Medical Center of the New York Medical College. Dr. Alberton then completed his cardiothoracic surgery residency at Hofstra North Shore – Long Island Jewish School of Medicine. He then joined Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, Washington, where he was hired to build and develop the thoracic robotic program at the Everett campus, which was one of the most successful in the state. While in Washington, he served as an assistant clinical professor at Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine at Washington State University. Dr. Alberton now chairs the robotic steering committee at Logan Health Medical Center in Kalispell and is committed to expanding access to minimally invasive thoracic surgery across Montana and the northwestern United States. He is currently an assistant clinical professor at the University of Washington School of Medicine.
