Ruth Myers, MD, a psychiatrist at Logan Health Behavioral Health – Whitefish, was recently recognized by the California Disability Services Association (CDSA) for being awarded the inaugural CDSA Interdisciplinary Medical Impact Award. Dr. Myers was nominated by Garrett Broadbent from Community Living Options in West Sacramento who was very familiar with Dr. Myers and her work and impact on the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) community in California prior to joining Logan Health.
“Dr. Ruth Myers has had a profound impact on the IDD population in California resulting from her specialization in persons with IDD and complex needs since 1989,” said Broadbent in his nomination of Dr. Myers. “Her clinical activities, systems and individual consultations, research, publications, and presentation have focused on persons with IDD who have aggression, self-injury, and/or failure to thrive.”
Dr. Myers was presented with the award in September.
The California Disability Services Association (CDSA) is a statewide association representing more than 100 community-based organizations that support and empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their families. CDSA is California’s largest and most diverse voice supporting IDD service providers.
