Peter Nielsen, MD

Peter E. Nielsen, MD, joined Logan Health in January 2022, practicing at Logan Health Maternal-Fetal Medicine. He is passionate about collaborative practice and team-based care for his patients. He served as the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) presidential task force chair on collaborative practice in 2014 which produced the ACOG monograph outlining best practices for team-based care and was endorsed by more than twenty national organizations. He approaches each of his patients and their families with personal concern, care and compassion, ensuring that their values and desires are heard and respected. His draw to practice medicine came from his intense interest in biology during high school (accelerated by his wonderful teacher) when, at the time, his sister who was diagnosed with Down syndrome was born. These events shaped his future desire to pursue medical school. When Dr. Nielsen is not in the clinic, he enjoys traveling, camping, and studying history.
