Accepting new patientsNeal Wilkinson, MD, is a surgical oncologist specializing in the treatment of gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary and pancreatic diseases. He brings extensive experience in complex surgical oncology, clinical research and surgical education.
Dr. Wilkinson earned his medical degree and master’s degree in public health from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. He completed his surgical residency at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, and served as a general surgeon in the U.S. Army. Following his military service, he completed a fellowship in surgical oncology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute in New York.
Dr. Wilkinson later served as an associate professor of surgery at the University of Iowa, where he practiced surgical oncology, trained surgical residents and participated in national cooperative group trials. He returned to Roswell Park to train surgical oncology fellows in complex gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery before relocating to Montana. He remains actively involved in surgical clinical research and the development of national cooperative group trials and has received numerous teaching awards.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Wilkinson enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and taking advantage of Montana’s many winter and summer outdoor activities.
