Logan Health facilities in Conrad and Shelby were recently recognized with the Cardiac Recognition Award, which is sponsored by the Cardiovascular Health Program within the state health department. The Recognition Award singles out critical access hospitals that demonstrate they have the infrastructure and commitment to provide high-quality care for patients with acute coronary syndrome, which includes heart attacks. Receiving the Cardiac Recognition confirms that both Logan Health – Conrad and Logan Health – Shelby have met high standards related to the utilization of evidence-based cardiac order-sets and protocols, they provide laboratory services 24/7, and both facilities have a well-thought-out transfer protocol with an administrative commitment to treating heart attack patients.
Innovation that Empowers: Research team connects breast cancer patients to breakthrough treatments
Clinical trials are research studies that create the opportunity for medical experts and patients to partner together and examine new ways to prevent, treat, and control disease. With patient safety as priority, a team of specialists and research coordinators closely assess the patient’s needs and work together to find solutions through breakthrough treatments. These often transform patients’ lives through innovation and ultimately contribute to the widespread use and accessibility of the new treatment. While cancer often comes to mind, the Logan Health Research Department also coordinates clinical trials in the specialties of cardiology, rheumatology, pulmonology, and endocrinology.
