Logan Health Medical Center and Logan Health—Whitefish have been recognized as top hospitals in the nation for the third consecutive year for their focus on rural health by The Chartis Group, a leading health care advisory and analytics firm. The group named Logan Health Medical Center in Kalispell a Top 100 Rural & Community Hospital and Logan Health—Whitefish a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital.
Based entirely on publicly available data, the ratings are the industry’s most comprehensive and objective assessment of rural hospital performance. Each year, The Chartis Group utilizes 50 independent indicators to assess performance across eight pillars. The top performers are those who excel in managing risk, achieving higher quality, securing better outcomes, increasing patient satisfaction, and operating at a lower cost than their peers. Hospitals recognized as Top 100 facilities had one of the 100 highest overall scores among all rural and community hospitals nationally. Other facilities look to these top performers as benchmarks as they strive to achieve similar results.
“We are thrilled to be recognized as a Top 100 Rural and Community Hospital by the Chartis Group,” says April Mcgauley, chief nursing officer at Logan Health Medical Center. “Our organizational mission of advancing medicine and enhancing care is reflected in the work of our tremendous healthcare workers, who serve patients in 13 different Montana counties spanning nearly 40,000 square miles.
