Logan Health is a nonprofit, 558-bed health system serving communities across Montana. As a nonprofit health system, Logan Health operates with a mission centered on improving the health and well-being of the communities it serves rather than generating profits for shareholders. Revenue is reinvested in patient care, clinical services, facilities, technology, workforce development and other programs that support community health and access to care. This nonprofit model also enables Logan Health to provide essential services that may be difficult to sustain based solely on financial return, particularly in rural and underserved areas.
While Logan Health’s main medical campus is located in Flathead County, its total service area spans 20 counties, nearly 50,000 square miles and a population of nearly 700,000. The health system includes six hospitals, more than 68 provider clinics and a broad range of other health care services, including the nation’s first rural air ambulance service, A.L.E.R.T., which Logan Health has maintained for more than 40 years. These services reflect the organization’s commitment to ensuring that patients across its geographically expansive and predominantly rural service area have access to high-quality care close to home.
More than 4,600 physicians, nurses, health care professionals and support staff work together to provide patients and their families with a positive, proactive and patient-centered experience. As a community-based nonprofit, Logan Health also plays an important role beyond providing direct medical care, supporting the broader health, economic vitality and quality of life of the communities it serves.
Founded in 1910, Logan Health has provided exceptional care to Montana communities for more than a century. Throughout its history, the organization has continued to grow and evolve in response to the changing needs of the communities it serves, while maintaining its longstanding commitment to accessible, compassionate and high-quality health care.
