Thomas Origitano, MD, PhD, FACS, FAANS, is a neurosurgeon specializing in complex cranial and skull-base surgery, including the treatment of brain tumors, aneurysms and other vascular conditions of the brain. He brings decades of experience in neurological surgery, academic medicine and surgical education.

Dr. Origitano earned his PhD in neurobiochemistry and his Doctor of Medicine from Loyola University Chicago. He completed his neurological surgery residency at Loyola University Medical Center, with additional training at Queen Square in London, England, and Nagoya University in Nagoya, Japan. Before relocating to Montana, Dr. Origitano served for 13 years as professor and chair of the Department of Neurological Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center Stritch School of Medicine. He also served as medical director of the Clinical Neuroscience Service Line and co-director of the Center for Cranial Base Surgery.

Throughout his career, Dr. Origitano has completed more than 1,000 surgeries for brain tumors and more than 500 procedures for vascular abnormalities. He is a past president of the Society of University Neurosurgeons and serves as a Scholar of the American Board of Neurological Surgery. He is also an affiliate professor of neurological surgery at the University of Washington.

Dr. Origitano is passionate about advancing neurological surgery education and established an annual boot camp and fellowship program for advanced practice providers specializing in neurosurgery.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Origitano enjoys spending time with his family, hiking and skiing.
