Shawn Barrong, MD

Shawn Barrong, MD, joined the Logan Health Women’s Care team in July 2015. Before moving to Montana to join Logan Health family, he gained his experience while practicing in Spokane, Washington, for 18 years. During his time in Spokane, he had a busy OB/GYN practice, was the clinical instructor and assistant professor for the University of Washington School of Medicine, and was chairman of the Department of OB/GYN at Sacred Heart Medical Center. He also taught physicians the techniques for minimally invasive hysterectomies. Several times he was named the best doctor of OB/GYN in the Best of Spokane and Coeur d’Alene Living Magazine, paying tribute to his practice and care. Dr. Barrong is originally from Spokane, where he graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in zoology. He received his medical degree from the University of Washington and went on to complete his OB/GYN residency while training in Phoenix, Arizona. He is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology, and is a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons. In his free time, Dr. Barrong enjoys fishing, hunting and relaxing in the outdoors.
