Rob Perkins, MD

Rob Perkins, MD, joined Logan Health Medical Center’s Hospitalist Program in June 2013, moving to the Flathead from Providence, Utah. He came to Logan Health from his position as an Intermountain Healthcare hospitalist at Logan Regional Hospital. He had worked for Intermountain in some capacity for 11 of 12 years. He is a Pennsylvania native and carried out his undergraduate studies at Penn State before receiving his medical education in Philadelphia from Drexel University (formerly known as the Medical College of Pennsylvania and Hahnemann University School of Medicine). He applied and was accepted into an accelerated study for internal medicine, allowing him to complete medical school and residency in just six years. He did his internship at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh before completing his residency at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City. After graduation from residency he was invited to join the hospitalist program at the Intermountain Medical Center and LDS Hospital, where he practiced with Intermountain Healthcare for the next seven years, serving as adjunct clinical faculty for the University of Utah. He later worked again for Intermountain for several years in Logan, Utah, before coming to join Logan Health. Logan, Utah is located in a rural agricultural valley a couple hours north of Salt Lake. He and his wife briefly lived in Erie, Pennsylvania, in 2008 and 2009 so they could be close to family while she started pursuing an advanced nursing degree. There he worked at Hamot Hospital (now part of the University of Pittsburgh) as a hospitalist and served as volunteer faculty for the Hamot Emergency Room and Neurology Residency programs.
