Melanie Klawiter, MD

Neurologist Melanie Klawiter, MD, joined the Logan Health Neuroscience & Spine in December 2013. Dr. Klawiter has a particular interest in working with headache and stroke patients. She earned her medical degree from the University of South Dakota School of Medicine, then completed both her internship and her neurology residency through the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. During her medical training she carried out research on paraplegia, genetics, and the effects of pregnancy on a rare disease that affects the optic nerves and spinal cord. Dr. Klawiter comes to the Neuroscience & Spine Institute from Benefis Medical Group–Neurology in Great Falls, Montana, where she practiced since 2010. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and baking, reading fiction, exercising, spending time with her two girls and husband, and doing activities outdoors such as hiking, boating, fishing and cross-country skiing.
