Accepting new patientsMatthew Egalka, MD, is a neonatologist with Logan Health Children’s. He has served the community as a PRN physician since July 2020. Dr. Egalka cares for newborns who are premature or need extra medical help. He is also the medical director of the Level III NICU at Salem Hospital in Salem, Oregon. Before that, he worked in San Antonio, Texas. He was the medical director of neonatal cardiovascular care at a children’s hospital.
Dr. Egalka earned his medical degree from Yale School of Medicine. He completed his pediatric residency and neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship at leading academic hospitals. His clinical interests include newborn heart care, prenatal counseling, medications for infants, and clinical informatics. He values working with care teams and families. This helps support babies at the very start of life. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, downhill skiing and collecting wine. He is originally from Framingham, Massachusetts.
