Joy Neyhart, DO, FAAP, is a board-certified pediatrician bringing more than two decades of experience in pediatric medicine to Logan Health Children’s. She joined the team after an accomplished career serving children and families in Alaska and across the country. From 2000 to 2022, Dr. Neyhart owned and operated Rainforest Pediatric Care, an independent pediatric clinic in Juneau, Alaska, where she also served as an active medical staff member at Bartlett Regional Hospital. When the practice transitioned to the Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium in 2022, she continued to provide care through the Tribal Health system for two additional years. Since 2024, she has provided pediatric locum tenens coverage in small rural hospitals throughout Montana and Vermont, helping to expand access to pediatric care in underserved communities.
Dr. Neyhart earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey School of Osteopathic Medicine (now Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine). She completed her pediatric residency at the Children’s Hospital of New Jersey at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Neyhart served from 2022 to 2025 on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Secretary’s Advisory Committee on Infant and Maternal Mortality, contributing to national efforts to reduce infant and maternal deaths. Her former practice, Rainforest Pediatric Care, was also highlighted in Positioning the Family and Patient at the Center: A Guide to Family and Patient Partnership in the Medical Home by Rebecca Malouin, PhD, for its commitment to family-centered care.
