Jose Ness, MD

Medical oncologist and hematologist Jose Ness, MD, joined Logan Health in November 2015. He earned his medical degree through the Universidade do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and has practiced in oncology and hematology ever since. He completed his internship and internal medicine residency with Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. During his final year, Dr. Ness was named chief resident for internal medicine. He pursued further training through a geriatric medicine fellowship at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. Following more than four years as an assistant professor of clinical and general medicine with University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, he accepted a medical oncology fellowship with the University of Iowa. Upon completion of that fellowship, he went into private practice with Hematology Oncology Associates in the Quad Cities of southeast Iowa and northwest Illinois. He moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2010 when he was appointed director of medical oncology for Kennewick General Hospital/Trios Health in Kennewick, Washington. Dr. Ness is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese, and is a voracious reader. He loves to hike and raft, perfect his newfound skiing skills with his family, and enjoy the rest of what Montana has to offer with his wife, son and three dogs.
