Gabor Bodonyi-Kovacs, MD, joined Logan Health in March 2018 as a nephrologist. Before joining Logan Health, Dr. Bodonyi-Kovacs was an assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Renal Diseases and Hypertension, Section of Transplant Medicine at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. Dr. Bodonyi-Kovacs received his medical degree from Albert Szent-Gyorgyi Medical University in Hungary. He completed residency training in internal medicine at Case Western Reserve University and both clinical and research fellowships in nephrology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School. Subsequently, at the University of Virginia, he completed a transplant nephrology fellowship and also earned a Master of Science degree in clinical research. During the course of his training, he received numerous awards and recognition. His research interests include genetic determinants of acute kidney injury, chronic kidney disease and hypertension, and factors determining kidney transplant outcome. His clinical expertise is transplant nephrology, novel immunosuppressive therapies, acute kidney injury, renal replacement therapies and cardiorenal syndrome.
