Frederick Barton, MSN, ENP‑C, FNP‑C, joined Logan Health in February 2025 and practices emergency medicine at Logan Health – Shelby. He holds advanced nursing degrees from Columbia University and Emory University and completed a fellowship in critical access emergency medicine at Carilion Clinic. Fred is board certified in family and emergency medicine and serves on the Board of Directors for the American Association of Emergency Nurse Practitioners (AAENP). He also leads international outreach for AAENP and coordinates nursing education for Techies Without Borders. His experience spans rural and critical access emergency care, international and austere medicine and point‑of‑care ultrasound. Based in the Portland, Oregon area, he has worked in both high‑volume and critical access emergency departments and currently teaches as an adjunct professor at Seattle University. Outside of work, he enjoys mountain biking, trail running, caving, canyoneering, and traveling.
