Doug Nelson, MD, joined the Logan Health team in 1992 and has been an integral clinician and leader during his time with Logan Health. Dr. Nelson’s clinical focus has included 30 years of providing both inpatient and outpatient care for children in pediatric medicine and adults of all ages in the field of internal medicine at Logan Health Primary Care 1287 Burns Way. He has also spent the past 5 years as Chief Medical Officer at Logan Health Medical Center, retiring from that role in May 2022. Dr. Nelson’s long history as an active member of the medical staff and as CMO, his past roles as chair of medicine, chair of pediatrics and member of the Board of Trustees (six years total; two years as chair) bring a great deal of both historical and current knowledge of our institution, medical staff, and community. He is now very excited to be a part of the Logan Health MD Direct practice and to offer superior personalized care to patients enrolled in the practice.
Dr. Nelson is married with two adult children and enjoys all of Montana’s outdoor activities, gardening, playing the guitar, reading, and spending quality time with family.
