Deborah Lessmeier, MD, is a family medicine physician with a particular focus on geriatrics, nursing home care and home hospice care. She brings extensive experience caring for patients across a variety of settings and is committed to providing compassionate, comprehensive care.
Dr. Lessmeier earned her medical degree from the University of Wisconsin Medical School in Madison and completed her family medicine residency with North Colorado Family Medicine in Greeley, Colorado. She began her career at Timberline Medical in Estes Park, Colorado. In 1991, Dr. Lessmeier moved to Juneau, Alaska, where she served as a commissioned officer with Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium, providing care in a busy health clinic that included nursing home and home hospice services. After taking time away to raise her family, she returned to practice in 2006, with an emphasis on geriatrics and pain management. Her professional and community involvement has included supporting the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, hospice services and cancer support groups, as well as serving as a liaison between mental health services and medical staff.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Lessmeier enjoys spending time with her family, getting outdoors, gardening and continuing to learn about medicine.
