Logan Health – Shelby announced today plans to launch a Rural Health Clinic and Walk-in Care for Toole County residents. The new clinic is expected to open this fall and will increase access to high quality primary care in the area.
“Logan Health – Shelby is committed to providing high quality health care to the residents and visitors of Toole County,” says Vicki Newmiller, President of Logan Health – Shelby. “Respondents of the 2023 Community Health Needs Assessment Survey requested increased access to health care providers in our county. Valuing the voices of our community, we will soon be opening a Rural Health Clinic and Walk-in Care.”
The new Rural Health Clinic delivers more access to primary care services for patients in rural communities and promotes a collaborative model of health care delivery using physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.
Logan Health – Shelby Walk-In Care will offer an affordable alternative to an emergency room visit when an immediate need occurs that is not life-threatening.
“The new Rural Health Clinic and Walk-in Care will offer the convenience and timely service by our newly hired and qualified providers,” says Newmiller.
On-site services such as laboratory and imaging services increase accessibility of patient care. Logan Health – Shelby’s on-site laboratory services efficiently delivers same-day test results, reducing cost and time barriers for local patients. Through Logan Health – Shelby’s partnership with Northwest Imaging in Kalispell, patients can also rest assured their results are issued from board-certified radiologists.
Together with trusted results and newly installed digital radiology equipment, Logan Health – Shelby’s on-site services are faster, more precise, and technologically advanced.
With an addition of the Rural Health Clinic, patients will continue to receive access to the trusted staff members of Logan Health – Shelby’s laboratory, imaging, respiratory, and rehabilitation departments under one newly renovated location. Logan Health visiting physicians will also continue offering robust specialty services locally, such as, OB/GYN, sleep medicine, and cardiology.
The expansion of healthcare services in Toole County is an important step toward improving the health and wellness of the community and surrounding areas. Logan Health opens the doors to readily accessible resources for the Hi-Line region. Logan Health – Shelby was the first in the region to offer surgery services and bring general surgeon Dr. Stephen Milheim to Shelby.
