Logan Health has named Josh Neff as president of Logan Health Flathead Valley, where he will lead Logan Health Medical Center and Logan Health Whitefish in partnership with Chief Medical Officer dyad partners Cory Short, DO, and Jonathan Amick, DO. Neff will begin his new role July 13.
Neff brings more than 20 years of health care experience, with a strong focus on hospitals, rural communities and keeping care close to home. He currently serves as president of Mercy Hospital in Durango, Colorado, a 90-bed regional medical center and Level III trauma center. He also serves as system vice president of integration and rural health for CommonSpirit Health’s Mountain Region, where he works with critical access hospitals and rural outreach programs across Colorado, Utah and western Kansas.
“Josh brings the experience, knowledge and passion needed to help move our organization forward as we continue to integrate across our unified health system,” said Clint Seger, MD, CEO of Billings Clinic – Logan Health. “His background in hospital operations, rural health, service growth and team engagement will be a tremendous asset to Logan Health and the communities we serve.”
Neff began his career as a licensed paramedic and flight paramedic, an experience that shaped his perspective as a health care leader. Over the course of his career, he has led teams through growth, change and new partnerships while maintaining a deep respect for the patient experience and a strong commitment to supporting caregivers.
“Throughout my career, I’ve been drawn to organizations that are deeply connected to the communities they serve,” said Neff. “Logan Health’s commitment to providing exceptional care close to home, combined with its strong regional presence across Montana, aligns closely with my passion for strengthening rural health care and ensuring access for patients who might otherwise have to travel long distances for care.”
Neff said he was especially impressed by Logan Health’s more than 100-year history, the high-quality comprehensive care provided across northwest Montana and the dedication of its teams. In his first year, he hopes employees experience his leadership as real, genuine and authentic, with a focus on creating a culture where people feel seen, valued and connected.
“Health care is ultimately a people business,” Neff said. “The opportunity to support caregivers, build relationships, develop leaders and make a meaningful difference in the lives of employees, patients and families is what continues to inspire me every day.”
Neff holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Tarleton State University and a Master of Organizational Leadership from the University of Oklahoma. Outside of work, he enjoys hunting, fishing and adventure travel, and he looks forward to experiencing a Montana summer and the outdoor recreation opportunities northwest Montana offers.
“I am looking forward to getting to know our teams and communities, both personally and professionally,” Neff said. “Relationships are the most important aspect of our business, and I am excited to join Logan Health at a time when we can build on the organization’s strong history and continue supporting exceptional care for the communities we serve.”
