On Friday, November 17, approximately 80 high school juniors and seniors will be taking part in the 2nd annual Hyped on Healthcare event at Logan Health Medical Center and Flathead Valley Community College (FVCC). The purpose of the event is to teach students interested in health topics about different career paths in the health care industry.
This year, Logan Health and FVCC will be co-hosting the event, as students will first learn about the education opportunities available for careers in the health fields at FVCC before getting to hear from medical professionals firsthand at Logan Health Medical Center. The combination efforts of FVCC and Logan Health are meant to equip students with all the necessary information for a future in health care professions.
Students from Columbia Falls, Glacier, Flathead, Stillwater Christian and Thompson Falls High Schools will hear from speakers from Logan Health Medical Center’s surgical, laboratory and radiology teams. The focus of these presentations will not only be long-term careers, but also entry-level opportunities that high school students can be thinking about sooner rather than later.
The students will be at FVCC from 9 – 11 a.m. and Logan Health Medical Center from Noon – 2 p.m.
