The certified nurse midwives at Logan Health offer a full range of maternity and gynecologic care to women of all ages in a comfortable setting, with an emphasis on each woman’s individual needs.

Our Philosophy

MidwivesAt Logan Health Women’s Care – Midwives (formerly FamilyBorn), a department of Logan Health Medical Center, our midwives believe that women deserve health care that meets their physical, emotional and cultural needs. We believe that women have the right to make informed decisions about their health care. We believe that having a baby is one of the most important experiences in a woman’s life.

As midwives we know that pregnancy and childbirth are normal processes and believe they should not be managed as medical problems. Our goal is to forge a partnership with our clients by providing information, guidance and emotional support. We value open and honest communication, and we strive to be accessible to women and responsive to their needs. We are dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of women and their families.

Our Services

At Logan Health Midwives, our goal is to offer you the health care choices you desire without sacrificing the conveniences of modern medicine in emergency or painful situations. As a full-service women’s health care practice, we are dedicated to meeting the needs of women from puberty through the childbearing years and beyond, with an emphasis on meeting the specific needs of each individual.

Patient Resources

Family Planning

Our clinic offers family planning services and counseling, including most methods of birth control, sexually transmitted infection screening or treatment, preconception counseling and premarital exams. We would be happy to discuss your concerns and assist you with spacing pregnancy and maintaining sexual health.

Annual Wellness Exams

Many women are familiar with the concept of annual exam, and they sometimes dread it because of embarrassment or discomfort. At Logan Health, our midwives strive to make this a comfortable experience that will make you feel at ease.

An annual health visit is important whether or not a woman is sexually active. In addition to being an excellent time to bring up specific concerns like family planning, prevention of sexually transmitted infections, weight management or menopause, an annual exam also provides the opportunity to discuss and screen for heart disease, thyroid problems, anemia, bone loss, diabetes, depression, and breast or gynecological cancers.

Spending an hour with a health professional once a year is an important part of taking care of your body and a good investment in your health.

Consultations and Appointments

With new patients, we offer a first-time meet and greet appointment for free. This will allow you to meet the midwives, ask questions and get an overall feel for our clinic. We want you to be happy with your choice.

Once you become a patient, you can schedule ongoing consultations and appointments at anytime. We do our best to get you into our clinic as soon as possible to address any health care needs you may have. In urgent situations we will make room for you the same day.

Policy Statement on Nondiscrimination

In accordance with applicable federal laws and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services policy, Logan Health does not discriminate on the basis of any nonmerit factor, including race, color, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability (physical or mental), age, status as a parent or genetic information.

Meadowlark Initiative

What is the Meadowlark Initiative?

Meadowlark InitiativeThe Meadowlark Initiative brings together medical care, counseling, care coordination and community services to help you get the right care at the right time, stay healthy and plan a path to recovery that works for you if you have concerns about depression, anxiety, drug and alcohol use, or other common stressors with the intention to help reduce the risk of pregnancy complications, and lastly, keep your family healthy, happy and together.

You and your family receive individualized pregnancy care from an experienced, supportive clinical team. This team includes prenatal care providers (obstetricians, midwives and perinatologists), a behavioral health provider and a care coordinator. The behavioral health provider assesses referred patients and provides brief counseling intervention, outpatient therapy and referrals to other community-based counselors.

Meadowlark Initiative Process

The care coordinator helps identify social factors that impede prenatal care and provide resources to meet those needs. This may include referrals to housing support, food stability agencies, substance use treatment, public health, home visiting programs, child care, medical coverage and employment agencies.
