Who to Call

Emergency Medical Services: 911
Poison Control: 1-800-222-1222

When you call Poison Control or 911, you may be asked for the following information:
  • Your name and phone number
  • The person's name, age and weight
  • Medical conditions or problems
  • Medications they are taking
  • The product involved and information from the label or package
  • How the person made contact with the product (for example, swallowed, inhaled, or contact through the skin or eyes)
  • How long ago the person made contact with the product
  • First aid already given
  • Whether the person has vomited

Poison Alerts

Stay informed about the latest poison alerts from the American Association of Poison Control Centers. The AAPCC works with poison centers nationwide to track poisonings and their sources. These may include household products, food and beverages, chemicals in the workplace and home, environmental toxins, drugs and medicine, and animal and insect bites and stings.
