Supplemental Breast Cancer Screening

In women with dense breasts or with an elevated lifetime risk of getting breast cancer, additional imaging called supplemental breast cancer screening, may be something to consider. At Logan Health, both Breast MRI and Contrast Enhanced Mammography are offered as supplemental screening tests. Both Breast MRI and Contrast Enhanced Mammography are excellent studies to consider when imaging above and beyond routine annual mammograms looking for cancer.  These tests are typically performed on the same day as traditional annual screening mammography or can be separated out by 6 months from the screening mammogram. Logan Health encourages women to have a thorough discussion with their health care provider about the risks and benefits of supplemental screening to determine if it’s right for them.

Schedules are subject to change and we kindly request that you RSVP by calling (406) 752-0130 for group activities so we can plan accordingly. Our activities are completely free of charge and intended to help heal and strengthen those impacted by cancer. Anyone diagnosed with cancer and their loved ones is welcome to attend our active programs.

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force has recently lowered the recommended age for breast cancer screening to women with average risk. They now recommend all women get screened for breast cancer every other year starting at age 40, rather than age 50. To schedule your mammogram, sign up here or visit the Logan Health Medical Center for our Walk-In mammography service Monday – Friday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. For more information on this recent change, see the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force Bulletin
