Logan Health – Shelby is pleased to welcome Paloma Lemke, MD, to its medical staff as a primary care family medicine physician at Logan Health Clinic – Shelby, beginning September 14, 2026.

Paloma LemkeDr. Lemke provides comprehensive care for patients of all ages, offering preventive care, chronic disease management and treatment for acute illnesses. Her addition reflects Logan Health – Shelby’s ongoing commitment to expanding access to high-quality health care services close to home for residents of Toole County and surrounding communities.

Dr. Lemke earned her medical degree from Trinity School of Medicine in St. Vincent and the Grenadines before completing the Family Medicine Rural Residency Program at Louisiana State University Health Shreveport. Her training emphasized full-spectrum family medicine, longitudinal patient care, preventive medicine and rural community health, preparing her to serve patients across every stage of life.

Born in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in Canada, Dr. Lemke enjoys spending time outdoors and pursuing a variety of interests, including reading, baking, video games, knitting, crochet and learning new skills.

“Welcoming Dr. Lemke is an important step in responding to the needs of our community and strengthening the local health care services residents rely on every day,” said Vicki Newmiller, President of Logan Health – Shelby. “We are excited for our community to get to know Dr. Lemke and the positive impact she will have on the health and well-being of our region.”

Logan Health – Shelby also plans to welcome another family medicine physician later this fall and a full-time emergency medicine physician at the beginning of 2027.

By early next year, Logan Health – Shelby anticipates having a primary care team of five physicians and advanced practice providers serving patients in the clinic, along with seven emergency medicine clinicians supporting care in the emergency department.

“As our communities continue to grow and evolve, so do the health care needs of the people we serve,” Newmiller said. “From primary care and rehabilitation services to specialty care and emergency medicine, we are proud to offer a broad range of services that help keep care local.”
