During EMS Appreciation Week (May 17–23), Logan Health is proud to recognize and celebrate the dedicated emergency medical services (EMS) professionals serving communities across Montana’s Hi-Line. From Babb and Browning to Cut Bank, Shelby, Sunburst, Conrad and Valier, these teams are on the front lines, providing critical care, fast response and peace of mind to the region.

Logan Health EMS now serves a wide portion of North Central Montana, with EMTs and paramedics stationed throughout local communities to ensure timely, coordinated emergency response. Staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week, EMS teams are ready to respond to calls, deliver life-saving care and safely transport patients to the most appropriate medical facilities.

“During EMS Week, we want to take a moment to recognize the incredibly dedicated professionals who serve our communities every day,” said Curtis Harper, Hi-Line EMS Manager for Logan Health. “Our teams are highly trained, committed to quality care and ready to respond whenever they are needed. Community members can feel confident knowing that EMS services across the Hi-Line are reliable, coordinated and focused on patient-centered care.”

In rural communities where resources can be limited, having strong EMS coverage is especially important. Logan Health EMS provides both basic and advanced life support, responding to injuries and illnesses while coordinating closely with local first responders, law enforcement, and regional partners such as ALERT and Med Flight. This collaboration ensures patients receive the right level of care as quickly as possible.

To further strengthen response times and community presence, Logan Health EMS is housing EMTs and drivers directly within communities such as Babb, Cut Bank, Shelby, Sunburst and Conrad.

“We understand how important it is for EMS providers to know the communities they serve,” Harper said. “Our teams include individuals who live here, work here and are committed to these communities. We’re also ensuring our crews are well-equipped with mapping systems, training and local support so they can respond effectively, even in rural areas.”

Logan Health also extends its gratitude to the EMTs and volunteers who have served these communities over the years. Their dedication has built a strong foundation for emergency care in the region.

“We want to thank those who have given so much of their time and service to EMS in these communities,” Harper said. “Their commitment has made a lasting impact, and we are honored to carry that forward.”

Beyond emergency response, Logan Health EMS teams are active in the community, providing coverage at local events, visiting schools, and offering education on safety and emergency preparedness. Community members are encouraged to say hello, ask questions and get to know the EMS professionals serving their areas.

As Logan Health continues to grow EMS services, there are also opportunities for community members to get involved. The organization is currently hiring EMTs and ambulance drivers who are interested in making a difference close to home. EMS roles offer the opportunity to provide direct patient care, assist in emergency response, and support the health and safety of neighbors and friends.

“This is more than just a job, it’s a chance to serve your community in a meaningful way,” Harper added.

Logan Health EMS has partnered with local school districts in Cut Bank and Browning to provide EMT classes, with hopes to expand to Pondera and Toole County schools in the future.

During EMS Week, Logan Health invites everyone across the Hi-Line to join in celebrating the men and women who answer the call, day or night, rain or shine. Their compassion, skill and commitment make a lasting difference in the lives of those they serve.

Whether responding to emergencies, supporting community events, or educating the next generation, Logan Health EMS is here for you close to home and ready to serve.
