Platinum Achievement Award places Logan Health Medical Center among top 5% of hospitals for heart attack treatment
Logan Health was recently awarded the American College of Cardiology’s 2025 NCDR Chest Pain – MI Registry Platinum Performance Achievement Award, the highest level of national recognition for heart attack care. This places Logan Health Medical Center (LHMC) in the top 5% of hospitals nationwide for excellence in heart attack care.
This award recognizes hospitals that consistently meet or exceed rigorous performance standards in treating heart attack patients, as outlined by national guidelines from the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association. Distinction is earned by demonstrating sustained excellence across two years, 2023 and 2024, in key clinical care measures.
The Chest Pain ̶ MI Registry empowers health care teams to consistently treat heart attack patients according to the most current, science-based guidelines and establishes a national standard for understanding and improving the quality, safety and outcomes of care provided for patients with coronary artery disease, specifically high-risk heart attack patients.
“Our goal is to bring world-class heart care to the people of northwest Montana,” said Nathan Hall, MD, interventional cardiologist and the physician executive for Logan Health’s Heart, Lung and Vascular services. “For a community of our size, having a cardiovascular program this robust is something truly special. This award is a reflection of the entire team’s dedication to delivering top tier care close to home.”
The Centers for Disease Control estimates that over 800,000 Americans suffer a heart attack each year. A heart attack occurs when a blood clot in a coronary artery partially or completely blocks blood flow to the heart muscle. Treatment guidelines include administering aspirin upon arrival and discharge, timely restoration of blood flow to the blocked artery, smoking cessation counseling and cardiac rehabilitation, among others.
Logan Health’s cardiovascular program brings together a wide range of specialties, including interventional cardiology, cardiac surgery, electrophysiology, cardiac rehabilitation, pediatric cardiology and advanced cardiac imaging. These specialty teams all work together to guide patients from diagnosis through recovery. Based out of Kalispell, the program provides regular outreach services in Columbia Falls, Polson, Libby, Eureka, Cut Bank and Shelby, helping to ensure patients in rural and surrounding communities have access to high-quality heart care close to home.
