Logan Health – Cut Bank is pleased to announce the addition of the WISEWOMAN Program (Well‑Integrated Screening and Evaluation for Women Across the Nation) to women in Glacier County and neighboring rural communities. The federally funded program offers no‑cost cardiovascular screenings, education and lifestyle support to eligible women ages 35 to 64 who are uninsured or have high‑deductible insurance plans and meet income requirements at or below 250% of the federal poverty level.

Heather Nunn, Executive Director of Clinical Services at Logan Health – Cut Bank, said the expansion meets a critical need for preventive care in the region.

Rural communities like ours face significant barriers when it comes to accessing consistent preventive health services,” Nunn said. “By bringing WISEWOMAN to Glacier County, we’re able to help identify cardiovascular risks early and empower women with the tools and education they need to take control of their heart health.”

Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death among women nationwide, with rural women experiencing disproportionately higher rates of high blood pressure, diabetes and restricted access to specialty care.

“Early detection is the key to preventing serious cardiovascular events,” Nunn added. “WISEWOMAN gives our providers the opportunity to work closely with patients over the course of an entire year, helping them make sustainable lifestyle changes that improve long‑term health outcomes.”

The WISEWOMAN program includes three clinic visits over a one‑year period. During the first appointment, a Logan Health provider reviews results of lab panel tests and discusses personalized strategies for improving cardiovascular health. Participants may be referred to local wellness programs and can learn more about the local blood pressure cuff loan program to support at-home monitoring. Patients will receive a WISEWOMAN passport book to document their goals, progress and follow-up milestones.
