Mark Welch, MD, joined Logan Health in April 2011 as a hospitalist physician and the medical director of the Hospitalist Program. Dr. Welch had been an active member of the medical staff at Logan Health Medical Center since September 2000, and in 2003 was a founding partner of the Northern Rockies Hospitalists. From July 2000 until 2003, Dr. Welch practiced urgent care and internal medicine with our primary care clinics in Kalispell. Prior to moving to Montana, Dr. Welch worked in San Diego at Scripps Clinical Medical Group – Department of Internal Medicine, working as a hospitalist. From 1997 to 2000, Dr. Welch served as an assistant clinical professor at the University of California, San Diego Department of Medicine. Dr. Welch completed both his residency and internship at the UCSD Medical Center and San Diego VA Medical Center, specializing in internal medicine. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree with honors from the University of Illinois in Chicago, and his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the University of Illinois in Urbana/Champaign. Dr. Welch resides in Bigfork with his wife and children.
