Ilyas Kaizar Colombowala, MD, FACC, FHRS, is a board-certified cardiologist and clinical cardiac electrophysiologist with extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm conditions. He originally joined the organization in August 2011, where he founded the electrophysiology program, before returning to Montana in September 2025 after practicing in Texas and Idaho.
Dr. Colombowala earned his undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and his Doctor of Medicine from Baylor College of Medicine, where he also completed his internal medicine residency, cardiovascular disease fellowship and electrophysiology fellowship through the Texas Heart Institute. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology and clinical cardiac electrophysiology. Professionally, Dr. Colombowala has a special interest in device implantation, cardiac monitoring, atrial fibrillation and ablation. He especially enjoys getting to know his patients and helping them improve their quality of life.
Originally from Houston, Texas, Dr. Colombowala enjoys skiing, fly-fishing and hiking in his free time.
