Derek Kastella, PA-C, joined Logan Health in December 2025. He is a board-certified physician assistant working with family medicine at Logan Health Primary Care – 160 Heritage Way. Derek takes pride in helping his patients find the best health solutions. He is a Montana native from Whitefish, and he is proud to provide services for his hometown community while collaborating with colleagues to deliver top-notch clinical care. He completed his master’s degree at the University of Washington’s MEDEX PA program. During his training and education, Derek received two special honors, the Mike Merrill Scholarship and the Barbara Gunter-Flynn Award. The Mike Merrill Scholarship was awarded to him for excelling in emergency medicine as a second-year PA student, and he received the Barbara Gunter-Flynn Award for working hard to improve care and access for underserved communities.
Outside of work, Derek likes spending time outdoors with his wife. They love bow hunting for elk and hunting whitetail deer during Montana’s general season. In the summer, they also enjoy fishing.
