On the first Sunday of June each year, communities across the country come together to recognize National Cancer Survivors Day, a national celebration dedicated to honoring cancer survivors, raising awareness about the challenges of survivorship and inspiring hope for the future. This year, Logan Health will mark the occasion by hosting its second annual National Cancer Survivors Day celebration on Sunday, June 7, from 1- 3 p.m. at Glacier Bank Park, home of the Glacier Range Riders.

National Cancer Survivors Day defines a survivor as anyone living with a history of cancer, from the moment of diagnosis through the rest of life. The day serves as a reminder that survivorship is not only about overcoming cancer, but about living fully beyond it. More than 18 million people in the United States are living with or beyond cancer today, and events like this help connect survivors, caregivers and communities in meaningful ways.

At Logan Health, cancer care extends beyond treatment. Through its comprehensive cancer services program, patients across northwest Montana have access to advanced screening, diagnostics, medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgical oncology, genetic counseling, naturopathic oncology and survivorship planning — all close to home. For rural patients, local access to this level of care can reduce travel burdens and improve continuity of treatment and support.

The event will take place alongside a baseball game at Glacier Bank Park, creating an opportunity for survivors, families and supporters to celebrate together. Cancer survivors may request up to 3 complimentary game tickets per household through this dedicated online registration. The instructions for proceeding are as follows: When the webpage opens, click the “Buy tickets” button. A ballpark map graphic of the stadium will pop up. Click on the “Clubhouse Terrace by Logan Health” section of the map located on the right side. Enter a quantity of no more than 3 in the new pop-up window and proceed with the checkout process.

Once survivor tickets have been claimed, the celebration remains open to all community members who purchase a ticket to attend the game. Informational tables will be staffed by Logan Health’s cancer care experts. All stadium attendees will have the opportunity to connect directly with oncology providers, nurses and specialists to learn more about cancer prevention and screening, treatment options, survivorship resources and supportive care services.

“This day is about more than marking the end of treatment, it’s about honoring the extraordinary courage it takes to face cancer and recognizing the strength it takes to keep moving forward,” said Dr. Melissa Kaptanian. “For every survivor, every family member and every person still in the fight: your story matters, your strength inspires us, and your future is worth celebrating. At Logan Health, we are committed to walking alongside you every step of the way.”

Whether someone is newly diagnosed, in treatment, in remission or supporting a loved one, Logan Health invites the community to gather in celebration, reflection and hope.
