Logan Health – Shelby is proud to offer a comprehensive outpatient infusion program designed to give patients exceptional care in a comfortable and welcoming environment. With a dedicated team of qualified, friendly and experienced staff, every patient receives personalized attention and support throughout their treatment journey.
Kristen Russell, Logan Health – Shelby Pharmacy Manager, explained that the infusion program was built to keep patients close to home while still receiving advanced treatments. She noted that the program supports a wide range of infusion and injection therapies for both chronic and acute conditions.
Russell described the scope of these services, saying, “The local infusion program is designed to accommodate a wide range of treatments, from hydration therapy to medication infusions and injections. Infusions and injections are ordered for a variety of conditions, such as multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, Crohn’s disease, migraines, anemia and ulcerative colitis among others.”
She added that infusion therapy can provide medications that cannot be taken orally, along with nutrients, hydration, antibiotics and specialty treatments. “Injectable medications for osteoporosis, such as Prolia and Evenity, are also available,” she explained. “We encourage providers and patients to call us with questions regarding infusions, and our experienced team of healthcare professionals are here to help.”
The outpatient infusion room is designed to promote ease and comfort, equipped with comfortable reclining chairs, personal televisions, warm blankets, snacks and beverages. A team of registered nurses, pharmacists and CNAs work together to ensure each patient receives attentive, individualized care with a focus on comfort, safety, privacy and respect.
Patients have taken notice of that level of care. One recent infusion patient expressed their gratitude, saying, “The nurse was incredible during my infusion. She is the best thing to happen to the Logan Health – Shelby facility. She was very professional and easy to talk to, kept my visit private and made me feel comfortable.”
Scheduling is also tailored to patients’ needs. Courtney Hovland, Logan Health – Shelby Director of Nursing, explained, “While we typically schedule outpatient infusions during business hours (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.), we work to accommodate each person’s needs and what works best for them.”
She added, “Patients can always call us with questions regarding infusions and our capabilities. We want to do whatever we can to help patients stay close to home.”
Whether a treatment lasts 20 minutes or several hours, patients can expect high-quality, personalized care without needing to travel far. Logan Health – Shelby’s outpatient infusion program is more than a medical service; it’s a partnership in each patient’s health journey. From one-time treatments to ongoing care, the team is committed to offering exceptional support close to home.
