Logan Health facilities in Chester, Conrad, Cut Bank, and Shelby proudly hosted their annual Brawl of the Wild Food Drives throughout November, rallying community support ahead of the Montana State University (MSU) Bobcats versus the University of Montana (UM) Grizzlies football game on November 22.
Each facility set up donation bins labeled for MSU Bobcats and UM Grizzlies, inviting community members to show team spirit while supporting local families. Donations included non-perishable food, personal care items, and pet supplies; all benefiting neighbors in need.
By November 21, Bobcat supporters claimed victory along the Hi-Line, officially “Canning the Griz.” Together, the four facilities collected more than 2,400 items, which were distributed to local food pantries: Loaves & Fishes (Chester), Pondera Food Pantry (Conrad), Harvest Food Pantry (Cut Bank), and Sagebrush Food Pantry (Shelby), as well as other community programs:
- Logan Health – Conrad partnered with its school-based health clinic to support Conrad Public Schools’ Cowboy Weekend Backpack Program, which provides nutritious food for students to take home each weekend. Donations included Thanksgiving meal boxes, snacks, toiletries, and Stokes Market gift cards. With community support and Stokes Market’s matching contributions, the program received $3,420 to buy fresh produce and essentials throughout the school year.
- Logan Health – Shelby expanded its efforts by donating 17 complete Thanksgiving meal baskets to Shelby Public Schools for local families.
In addition, the Hi-Line facilities collectively donated 113 frozen turkeys to area food pantries, schools, and the Great Falls Rescue Mission, further extending the reach of this event.
The annual Brawl of the Wild Food Drive reflects Logan Health’s deep commitment to strengthening communities and supporting local families. These efforts would not be possible without the generosity of community members, local Logan Health staff, and partners who came together to make a meaningful difference.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to this year’s success. Together, we are building healthier lives and stronger connections across the Hi-Line.
