On Tuesday, July 9 and Wednesday, July 10, Logan Health and Billings Clinic are collaborating with the Silver Lining Foundation, as well as UM’s School of Integrative Physiology and Cardio-Oncology Rehabilitation Lab, to present Exercise and Lifestyle Medicine in Oncology Care: A Medical and Survivorship Conference. This event is open to students, professionals, providers, cancer survivors and caregivers. Attendees will hear from top oncology providers and researchers in the field as they discuss exercise oncology rehabilitation, nutrition, cardiotoxicity in cancer care, the current state of care in Montana’s rural and indigenous communities, and methods to improve access to oncology rehabilitation for all cancer patients.
This two-day conference will start on Tuesday, July 9 at 8 a.m. in the ALI Auditorium of University of Montana’s Education Center and will conclude at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
The event’s keynote speakers are Kathryn Schmitz, PhD, MPH, from the University of Pittsburgh and Don McKenzie, MD, PhD, from the University of British Columbia. Among others, guest speakers include Brad Roy, PhD, FACSM, executive director of Logan Health Medical Fitness Center, Teckla Putnam, certified wellness coach from Logan Health Medical Fitness Center, and Leah Scaramuzzo, MSN, RN, MEDSURG-BC, AOCN, nursing director of oncology clinical development for Logan Health.
