2026 Betty Woods EMS Grants

Betty Woods, a dedicated employee of Logan Health Medical Center for 28 years, initially served in the Intensive Care Unit before transitioning to a cardiac nurse on A.L.E.R.T. flight team in 1982. With a deep passion for emergency services, Betty believed that our emergency service teams formed the backbone of our communities. She tirelessly contributed to the training of numerous individuals in the EMS fields and proudly served on the Three Rivers Ambulance Board. Betty’s final day of service was on September 10, 2006.

Following Betty’s passing, our family decided to utilize privately donated funds as well as the proceeds from the annual A.L.E.R.T./Betty Woods Memorial Golf Tournament to support our community’s emergency service teams. Every year, these funds get divided between A.L.E.R.T. and to emergency service departments or individuals. Requests for funding are applicable to an individual or team in the cases of financial assistance for alleviating hardships resulting from injury or illness, providing scholarships for professional trainings or certifications, or requesting needed equipment or gear.
