When Billings Clinic and Logan Health joined together in September 2023 to form a new unified health system, Dr. Craig Lambrecht was named CEO and Dr. Seger was named Chief Physician Executive for the health system in addition to his role as CEO of Billings Clinic. After Dr. Lambrecht stepped down as CEO in the spring of 2024, Dr. Seger and Kevin Abel, then President of Logan Health Kalispell and Whitefish, were appointed as Co-CEOs to guide the health system through its early integration phase.
As the combined organization continues to strengthen and unify, the Board has now determined that the time is right to transition to a single CEO leadership structure.
“We approached both Kevin and Clint about their interest in serving as the CEO,” said Craig Bartholomew, Board Chair. “Kevin shared that he was interested in returning to his prior role as President of Logan Health in Kalispell and Whitefish and emphasized his full support for Dr. Seger in the CEO role. We are grateful to Kevin for his collaboration and dedication over the past 18 months, and we are confident in Clint’s ability to advance our health system as a visionary leader.”
The Billings Clinic – Logan Health Board engaged nationally recognized health care governance experts to assess Dr. Seger’s qualifications and leadership.
“Our first thought was to launch a national search,” said Mike Goguen, Vice Chair of the Board. “However, through an in-depth review with national benchmarks, it became clear that the right leader was already within our organization. As a physician, Dr. Seger’s clinical experience gives him tremendous insight into how the highest levels of quality care and innovation can be delivered across our unique geography.”
Dr. Clint Seger grew up in Buffalo, Wyoming, and attended medical school at the University of Washington through the Wyoming WWAMI program, followed by a residency in Family Medicine. He joined Billings Clinic in 2008, practicing hospital medicine at Cody Regional Hospital in Wyoming while his wife, Nadine Seger, MD, became Billings Clinic’s first neonatologist. Over time, Clint expanded his practice serving as a rural hospitalist across Montana and Wyoming. His leadership in advancing care at Critical Access Hospitals led to his appointment as Billings Clinic’s Chief Medical Officer for the Region in 2014 and he became CEO of Billings Clinic in 2022.
Dr. Seger credits his inspiration for a career in medicine to a family physician in his rural hometown who demonstrated the importance of community-centered care. Clint and Nadine have two high school-aged children: Colton, a senior, and Taelyn, a junior. They are avid outdoor adventure seekers throughout Montana and Wyoming.
Between now and the start of 2026, Dr. Seger will collaborate with physician and operational leaders and the Board to ensure a smooth transition.
