Logan Health Children’s recently received a creative gift from the Artists and Craftsmen of the Flathead (ACF) — an arts and crafts cart called, “The Doodle Buggy.”

Logan Health Children's Doodle BuggyThe Doodle Buggy will bring joy, comfort, and creativity to kids in the hospital. It is especially helpful for those who have long stays or need ongoing treatment. Various types of colorful supplies pack the mobile art cart, including crayons, markers, sketch pads, glue sticks, pipe cleaners, watercolor paints and more. Kids can explore their imaginations and find comfort in art.

Erin Solin, a member of the ACF, started the project in effort to support young patients and honor fellow ACF members lost to cancer: Wendy Maechtle, Amy Doyle, and Sharon Askelson. Their memory continues to inspire acts of creativity and compassion within the community.

“We are grateful to the Artists & Craftsmen of the Flathead for their generosity and thoughtfulness,” said Amy Rohyans Stewart, Child Life Supervisor at Logan Health Children’s. “The Doodle Buggy gives our patients a way to express themselves, find joy and experience healing through creativity.”

To keep the program going, the ACF is accepting donations to help restock and maintain the Doodle Buggy. They will raise funds by selling treasure boxes full of handmade items. This will happen at their 44th Annual Christmas at the Fairgrounds Artisan Market. The event is on November 28–30, 2025, at the Flathead County Fairgrounds. Proceeds from these sales will support the Doodle Buggy program.
