ENT Physician – Logan Health Ear, Nose, Throat & Lung

Dr. Anna KniselyWhere are you from?
I was born and raised in Libby, MT.

What is your background?
I studied Biology at Willamette University and through the WWAMI program, earned my MD at the University of Washington School of Medicine.  I then completed my Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery training at UPMC in Pittsburgh, PA, followed by a Rhinology and Skull Base Surgery in Sydney, Australia.  After fellowship I practiced in Seattle and Alaska for 10 years before coming back to Montana.

Why did you choose to get into ENT as a specialty?
I originally wanted to be a marine biologist, however in a college course I saw a Nova video of a deaf child who underwent cochlear implantation and I thought how amazing it would be to change someone’s life by restoring one of the senses.  Although I didn’t become a Neurotologist, it put me on the path to medicine and Otolaryngology.

What conditions do you most commonly see?
As a Rhinologist and Head and Neck Surgeon, I see a lot of patients with breathing problems, sleep problems, and sinus problems.  I also see pediatric patients for things like ear tubes and tonsillectomy for sleep apnea.

What is the best part of your job?
The best part of my job is when I can improve patients’ quality of life.

How can patients come see you?
Patients can call the clinic directly to be scheduled or they can be referred.

What do you like doing outside of work?
I love to be outdoors in almost every way.  I love SCUBA diving, travel, hiking, kayaking/canoeing, and waterskiing.  Since moving back to Montana, I’m also learning to fly fish!
