Ryan Gunlikson, MD, FACS, has been a member of active medical staff at Logan Health – Whitefish since 1999. Dr. Gunlikson was a partner at Northwest Montana Surgical Associates from 1999-2006, before starting his own surgery practice, North Valley Surgical Services. He owned North Valley Surgical Services from November 2006-2015, at which point the practice became clinic of North Valley Hospital, now Logan Health Whitefish. Dr. Gunlikson specializes in general surgery and has been focused on robotic surgery of the abdomen. He is board certified as a general surgeon by the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Born and raised in Montana, Dr. Gunlikson earned a bachelor of science degree at Montana State University in Bozeman before attending medical school at the University of Washington in Seattle, and then completing his residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, CO, where he was the chief resident in his final year.
Dr. Gunlikson is DaVinci Robot Certified in basic and advanced laparoscopic surgical cases, and also advanced trauma life support certified. His expertise in surgery serves patients throughout the Flathead Valley and Eureka through his office at Logan Health Surgical Clinic – Whitefish. He also travels to Eureka once a month to offer outreach services. In his free time, Dr. Gunlikson enjoys spending time with his family hiking, skiing, or biking, depending on the season.
