Biography

Louis Ross, MD, is a neurosurgeon specializing in degenerative and complex spine conditions, spinal deformities, trauma and cranial surgery, including the treatment of brain tumors. He brings extensive experience in complex neurosurgical care and a commitment to providing thoughtful, patient-centered treatment.

Dr. Ross earned his undergraduate degree in physics with a minor in biochemistry from the University of Utah, graduating with honors and receiving multiple scholarships. He earned his medical degree from the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University on a full scholarship. He completed his neurosurgery residency and a fellowship in neurocritical care at the Cleveland Clinic. During his training, Dr. Ross was recognized three times as Resident Teacher of the Year and received both the Program Director Award and a Humanitarian Award. Before relocating to the Flathead Valley, he practiced neurosurgery in Billings, Montana, for seven years.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Ross enjoys Montana’s outdoor lifestyle. His interests include mountain and road biking, trail running, open-water swimming, kayaking, rock climbing, hiking, downhill and cross-country skiing, as well as woodworking.
