David S. Braun, MD, is a gastroenterologist specializing in gastroenterology and hepatology, with clinical interests in inflammatory bowel disease and liver disease. He is passionate about understanding the complex physiology behind gastrointestinal conditions while building meaningful, personal relationships with his patients.
Originally from New York City, Dr. Braun earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from New York University before earning his medical degree through the University of Queensland–Ochsner program. He completed his internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at Methodist Dallas Medical Center.
During his training, Dr. Braun served as chief resident from 2021–2022 and chief fellow from 2024–2025. He received the Resident of the Year award and was recognized as an Outstanding Poster Presenter at American College of Gastroenterology conferences in 2021 and 2024.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Braun enjoys traveling, learning new languages, playing music, skiing, hiking and spending time outdoors with his wife.
