Orthopedic surgeon Mark Magill, MD, joined Logan Health Orthopedics & Sports Medicine in September 2015, bringing his strengths as a foot and ankle surgeon to Logan Health. Dr. Magill graduated with a degree in biomedical engineering from Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri, then attended medical school at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. He completed his orthopedic residency at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. In Georgia, he gained extensive experience in orthopedic trauma while working at Grady Memorial Hospital. Dr. Magill was awarded a fellowship position in orthopedic foot and ankle surgery at OrthoCarolina in Charlotte, North Carolina. During his time in Charlotte, he helped care for National Basketball Association, National Football League, Major League Baseball and National Collegiate Athletic Association athletes. He published multiple biomechanical studies and was involved in the patenting process for a novel orthopedic joint replacement material. Dr. Magill is equipped to manage general orthopedic conditions as well as orthopedic trauma, but he has a special interest in ankle instability, sports injuries of the foot and ankle, foot and ankle fractures including metatarsal fractures in athletes, foot and ankle arthritis, ankle replacement, foot pain, flatfoot and posterior tibial tendon problems, Achilles repair, and forefoot conditions including hallux rigidus, plantar plate ruptures and bunions. When not working, Dr. Magill enjoys spending time with his wife, Dr. Ashleigh Magill, mountain biking, fishing, skiing, playing soccer, trail running and hiking.
