Logan Health Medical Center in Kalispell was awarded eight American Heart Association (AHA) achievement awards for their implementation of quality improvement measures that ensure cardiovascular patients receive efficient and coordinated care. This quality of care emphasizes Logan Health’s commitment to saving more lives, shortening recovery times and eliminating returns to the hospital.
Nearly half of all adults in the U.S. have experienced some form of cardiovascular disease – including heart attack, stroke and heart failure. For patients with conditions that are severe enough to be transported or admitted to a hospital, time is critical.
The American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline and Get With The Guidelines programs help reduce barriers to prompt treatment for cardiovascular events. As a participant in both Mission: Lifeline and Get With The Guidelines programs, Logan Health applied for the award recognition by demonstrating how the organization has committed to improving quality care for patients.
For the fourth year in a row, LHMC led all hospitals in the state in total number of achievement awards.
“The fact that this hospital is consistently ranked as the top facility in the state for care quality is a direct testimony to the dependable work that our care teams do each and every day,” says Nathaniel Hall, MD, physician executive of the Heart, Lung and Vascular service line at Logan Health Medical Center. “We are fortunate to have such gifted and caring individuals including techs, nurses, APPs and physicians at Logan Health who are committed to the health of their communities. We are incredibly proud of them and are grateful that this work is being recognized nationally by the American Heart Association.”
