Logan Health Children’s and Spirit Halloween are teaming up once again to make hospital stays a little less spooky. Halloween magic is making its way to Logan Health Children’s, and this year, it’s coming with costumes, treats and plenty of smiles.

Logan Health Children’s and Spirit Halloween will host their annual Spirit of Children visit on Wednesday, October 14, at Logan Health Children’s, 350 Sunnyview Lane. During the visit, members of the Child Life team will bring costume kits from Spirit Halloween to pediatric patients and their families, giving kids the chance to celebrate Halloween, even if they’re spending the holiday in the hospital.

Because sometimes the best medicine is a little fun.

From superheroes and princesses to spooky creatures and everything in between, kids will be able to choose a costume that lets their personalities shine. And, of course, no Halloween celebration would be complete without a few festive treats.

“Kids should have the chance to be kids, even when they’re in the hospital,” said Logan Health Children’s Child Life Specialist, Amy Rohyans Stewart. “Spirit Halloween helps us create moments of fun and normalcy during what can be a difficult or stressful time for children and their families. A costume, a smile and a little Halloween magic can make a surprisingly big difference.”

Spirit of Children supports Child Life programs at children’s hospitals across the country. At Logan Health Children’s, the partnership has raised  more than $180,000 over the past six years, helping the Child Life team provide comfort, distraction and therapeutic play for pediatric patients and their families.

Child Life specialists help children and families navigate the hospital experience through age-appropriate play, preparation for procedures, emotional support, sibling support and other activities designed to reduce fear and anxiety.

And the fun doesn’t stop at the hospital.

Community members can support Spirit of Children by shopping at a local Spirit Halloween store or donating online during the Halloween season. Their support helps bring more smiles, more play and more moments of childhood to kids receiving care at Logan Health Children’s.

So, whether you’re shopping for a witch, wizard, superhero, dinosaur, or something that defies explanation, your Halloween haul can help make a hospital stay a little brighter for a child in our community. Use the attached coupon for 10% off your purchase.
