Biography

Jonathan Daniel, MD, is a thoracic surgeon who specializes in the surgical treatment of diseases affecting the lungs, chest and mediastinum. He brings more than two decades of surgical experience to Logan Health, joining the Department of Surgery in January 2026 after most recently practicing at Tampa General Hospital in Florida.

Dr. Daniel treats a wide range of thoracic conditions, including lung and chest tumors, complex airway disease and other disorders requiring advanced surgical intervention. His clinical focus includes robotic-assisted surgery, allowing him to perform highly precise procedures through smaller incisions, which leads to faster recovery for patients.

Originally from Hancock, Michigan, Dr. Daniel completed his undergraduate degree at Loyola University Chicago before earning his medical degree from Michigan State University. He went on to complete general surgery training at Baylor College of Medicine, followed by a molecular research fellowship at MD Anderson Cancer Center and advanced thoracic surgery training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School.

Outside of the operating room, Dr. Daniel enjoys spending time with his wife, Ginger, and their five children. He also loves sports, travel, good food and discovering new adventures wherever they may take him.
