Welcome Message From the Executive Director
I am honored to serve the employees and patients of North Valley Hospital through the Foundation. Our mission is to inspire a “culture of giving” to support this wonderful nonprofit community-based hospital. A community of our size is fortunate to have a Critical Care Access hospital with such a wide array of services. This is thanks to many of our donors and community members who had the foresight and tenacity to raise the funds to build this hospital.
In 2017 we are celebrating 10 years in the new hospital. During that time, we have helped fund the expansion of The Birth Center and contributed to the well-being of the staff and patients in a variety of ways. In addition to annual sustaining fundraising drives such as employee giving, annual appeals and a new business partnership program, there are specific projects defined for the 2017-2018 years. The Foundation Board of Directors has worked with the NVH administration to identify these areas of critical need:
- 3-D breast imaging equipment in the Imaging Department to allow for both 2-D and 3-D mammography, including low radiation scans and identification of high-risk patients for follow-up study
- Cardiopulmonary rehab project to replace patient monitor system that is 17 years old
- Planetree project: raise funds to enhance a wide variety of aspects of the patient-centered Planetree operating model at North Valley Hospital, including upgrades or replacement of furniture, art and wall painting. Funds would help enhance the music, art and pet therapy programs.
The NVH Foundation looks to foster continued and new relationships with collaborative partners like Shepherd’s Hand Clinic and Flathead Valley Community College and to raise funds to provide a higher profile of community health services in the north valley.
