Logan Health – Whitefish is a teaching hospital and is pleased to offer students the ability to experience the various career paths within a hospital environment.
From high school students eager to learn about health care careers to medical school graduates gaining hands-on experience, we provide opportunities that include:
Student clinical rotations
- Job shadowing
- Nursing rotations
- Internships and clinical rotations
- Elective projects
are formal programs of study in which a student is currently enrolled in an educational program, and seeking a clinical rotation. The student clinical rotation involves an approval process, HR clearance, and a school affiliation agreement. Please allow a processing time of at least three months prior
to the start of the requested clinical rotation, to ensure that you are cleared to begin your rotation on time.
Job shadow experiences
are reviewed on a case by case basis. They are set up as space allows, and require significant time to process. Priority is given to students enrolling in health care related programs that have an observation requirement to apply for that program. Please allow two months prior
to the start of the job shadow experience, to ensure that you are cleared to begin your observation experience on time.
In addition to on-site programs, Logan Health – Whitefish supports the Health Occupation Student Association at Whitefish High School and Columbia Falls High School.
Some of the schools we currently work with include:
- Montana State University
- University of Montana
- Flathead Valley Community College
- University of Washington School of Medicine
- Salish Kootenai College
- Area high schools
Students will be required to provide proof of immunizations, and participate in the North Valley Hospital video orientation.
