Safe and fun ways to celebrate Halloween during COVID
The spookiest holiday of the year gives us the chance to be anything we want to be, treat ourselves to our favorite goodies, and be generous with our neighbors. Although Halloween is going to feel a little different this year, there are still several ways to have fun while being mindful and staying safe.
Play a Game of Scavenger Haunt
Drive or walk around town and look at people’s decorations, have a list of things for your ghouls and guys to find while you’re haunting the streets
#SquadGhouls
Get cozy indoors and watch a Halloween classic like Hocus Pocus or Casper, and make some spooky snacks together.
Eat, Drink and Be Scary
Gather all your friends and family together online to have a costume contest, play a Halloween themed trivia game, or a super festive game of charades!
Give ‘em Pumpkin to Talk About
Carve some pumpkins with in your house with the people you live with, or move the mess outside and invite friends and neighbors to join in socially-distanced fun on your front lawn or at a park.
Bone appetite!
Have goodie bags set up outside, on your porch or in your yard, for families to come by and grab. Make sure to wash your hands before prepping the bags.
Mask-erade
Have a mask decorating party with your kids or friends. Decorate your face covering with fun fall or Halloween décor, wear them in public spaces to keep the season spooky while staying safe.
Please remember to keep your holiday celebration safe with small or virtual gatherings. If you are out and about when it’s dark remember to wear light colors or reflective gear.
The decisions we make every day and steps each of us can take have the power to make a difference in this pandemic. If you are sick, stay at home. Follow the guidelines provided by public health officials and your school districts.
Together, we can make a difference. Have a safe and skele-fun Halloween!
